Our Story

September: At a meeting in Mattapoisett, members of the Class of 1988 initiate efforts to establish a formal alumni association as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Four executive officers are elected.

The name Old Rochester Regional Bulldog Pride Alumni Association (BPAA) is chosen.
Drafting of by-laws begins.
Articles of organization submitted to the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

May: Organized alumni award the fifth and last ’88 Bulldog Pride Award, establishing a pathway for future scholarships through the BPAA. The total amount of funds raised for this five-year commitment was $1,500.
August 31: Revised articles of organization approved and filed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
September 15: BPAA receives IRS approval for tax-exempt status.
October 1: First draft by-laws are approved
October 21–22: BPAA officially launches and hosts its first Alumni Weekend. A dedication plaque is presented during halftime at the homecoming game. A gala event was held on Saturday in Mattapoisett and a brunch event was held on Sunday.
Fundraising efforts result in over $50,000 in donations and pledges through 2028.

May: First official Bulldog Pride Award presented by BPAA to a Class of 2024 graduate: $1,000 for demonstrated school pride and service.
October 26–28: 2nd Annual Alumni Weekend 2024
First, in-person Quarterly Executive Committee held on the last day of Alumni Weekend.
BPAA exceeds its $4,000 fundraising goal.

May: Two Class of 2025 graduates receive Bulldog Pride Awards of $1,500 each.
BPAA launches the Bulldog First Award: $500/year for up to four years to a first-generation college student ($2,000 total).
October 17 & 18: 3rd Annual Alumni Weekend 2025. Launch of the dedicated website: www.orralumni.org
A grant program is launched to support student organizations, expanding BPAA’s reach across the ORR student body.
